"I have
learned
over the
years
that
when
one's
mind is
made up,
this
diminishes
fear."
- Rosa Parks
More than ever, I’ve recognized that there is a generation of Black and Brown youth and young adults who are strongly disconnected from the truth of their identity because they lack awareness of their history. This schism between the present and the past dims and dulls our perspective of the opportunities that we have to spark history with a futuristic lens. With this perspective in mind, we benefit from the innovative strategies associated with elevating education in a way that challenges the understanding out students have and positioning them to deepen their conventions of analysis.
This resource was created with a desire to support students in being exposed to the innovative genius of the African American culture. We desire for this fun, interactive learning tool to bring a greater sense of pride to our student populations who identify as the “minority,” to show them that really are the influencers of the majority!
